Northwest Demolition was contracted for the demolition and site restoration of 151 military housing units on Schofield Barracks in central O’ahu. Project scope included the demolition of 17 buildings in 4 neighborhoods, including hardscaping. NWDD then removed over 1000 LF of subgrade water and storm sewer utilities, cut/capped all slab protrusions, graded for positive drainage, and then topsoiled and hydroseeded the site with a native seed mix. NWDD coordinated with a myriad of subcontractors and stakeholders, including DPW, base operations, and the USACE contracting office out of Huntsville, AL. In total, over 7,000 tons of C&D debris and concrete/asphalt was removed from site, achieving a 50% recycling rate for the project. The project was completed ahead of schedule and without a safety or first aid incident.
This project demonstrates Northwest Demolition’s ability to manage a large demolition and site restoration project while coordinating with various government agencies and in compliance with strict USACE oversight.
